word it actually had the attributes of God? What if by taking away from
or adding to God’s word (because you didn’t like it or understand it), you
were actually making an idol – making a false image of God?
  2. The Simplicity of being a Sheep See Psalm 23. Illustration of sheep
and shepherds in the Negev desert.
  3. Simplicity of the Unseen We have plenty of biblical examples of God
working behind the scenes. We see it in Ruth. We see it is Esther.
So wouldn’t it be something if we just did things the way God told us
and then trust him for the results? How about it pastors and preachers
actually found out what God’s word said and then gave that to his people
    – and then trusted God with results. What if Christians were to treat
each other the way the bible says and then trust that nonbelievers would
see the difference and be attracted to it? What if we believed that God was acting whether we saw the results or not. Wouldn’t it be something
if we found out that rewards were given for only the results we did see ?
  4. Simplicity of Supplication That is prayer. Wouldn’t it be something if
in the matter of getting to God to act, to get involved in a situation, was
merely a matter of Christians praying? What if we found out in Heaven
that God did NOT act in some situation because no one prayed?
  5. The Simplicity of Separation Wouldn’t it be something if separation
was simply a matter of listening to what God told you personally what
he didn’t want you to do, or places he didn’t want you to go, or people he
didn’t want you to be with?
  6. The Simplicity of Service would it be something if Christian service
was merely a matter of finding out what God specifically wanted you to
do, and then doing it? How about just doing what you are definitely told
to do – that is those passages that say stuff like “This is the will of God” …
like abstaining from fornication in 1 Thessalonians 4:3, like giving thanks
    in 1 Thessalonians 5:3
  7. Simplicity of Salvation — Pictured by:
    A. Revelation 3:20 shows that salvation is like letting someone in the
door Things (Revelation 3:20) Revelation 3:20: Behold, I stand at
the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I
will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
    B. John 14:14 tells us that getting saved is like taking a drink of water
(John 4:14) John 4:14: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I
shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him
shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
    C. John 10:9 says that getting saved is like walking through a door (John
10:9) John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall
be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
    D. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Ephesians 2:8,9 says
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.” So,
salvation is simply like opening a gift.
    E. In Luke 15 we have the story of the prodigal son, who after wasting
away his inheritance, after ruining his life, a wantonly pursuing plea-
sure and experience, returns home to a father who is overjoyed to see
him and welcomes him with open arms. Salvation is like coming home
    to a welcoming father.
