In the Winter of 1977 the Lord saved me at the age of 16. A concerned
youth minister from a local Baptist Church visited my parents home and
gave me a gospel tract. After reading it and being convicted by the Holy
Spirit of my sinful condition I climbed out of bed in the still of the night and
called on the name of the Lord Jesus asking him to save me. I am sure
that I could not possibly have imagined the full impact of that decision and
how it would completely change my future. Since that day life with the Lord
has been an adventure. God has graciously allowed and enabled me to do
a variety of things that I would not have believed I could do, including
Sunday School teacher, Youth Minister, Bible Institute Instructor, Street
Preacher, Missionary to Romania, and now Pastor.
At 47 years of age my goal has changed from when I was 16. Then my
goal was to get started, now it is to finish my course. Once again God has
entrusted to my care a ministry that I want to make full use of for His glory.
Philadelphia Baptist Church is a finishing school for Christians who are
serious about believing the Book, serving the Lord and staying in the fight
till the Lord blows the trumpet. My desire for Heaven grows greater by the
day, to embark on that eternal adventure with the One who bled and died
for me, an adventure that will never end. Amen!

| Pastor Mike Thomas, was called to be pastor after a unanimous vote in May of 2005. We thank the Lord for his faithfulness to this ministry, for his devotion to his family and church family, his dedication to seeking and winning lost souls, and his labour of love in the Word and Doctrine, perfecting the Saints as a good under-shepherd and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. |
